Dreams of the Heart

Where is the Future Found?

Bud Young

Dreams of the Heart

Horses galloping by

Like a strong spring breeze

Mountains rising high

Reaching for clouds to tease

Trees into forest form

Among them there is no sky

Woodland creatures all around

Scampering, scurrying hurriedly by

Sitting on a log by a stream

You beside me holding my hand

Relishing that this is not a dream

Grateful life is always this grand

Our son reaches down and hugs us

Our daughter sits down and greets us

Love fills our hearts and the air that surrounds us

Two angels fly by in an arc around us

I feel His presence getting closer to us

Our eyes meet, His smile so full of grace

He tousles her hair, caresses your face

Pats my back, gives him a warm embrace

I see the scars across His face

Holes in His hands from where the nails were placed

Marks of the love He shares with us

This dream of our heart is now real to us.

Heaven on earth is not a reality yet

We get glimpses from God

If we just look around

Not with the eyes that are physically set

With the dreams of the heart

Is the future found
