Dreft has a wonderful smell and is hypoallergenic for baby's sensitive skin. It also has the ability as Dreft claims to not harm the flame retardant chemical on babies sleep clothes. It also claims to be the number one choice of pediatricians. This is most likely because until recent years baby detergent was limited to Dreft and other choices like Ivory or Baking soda formulas. I used Dreft for years and because of my husband's sensitive skin I used it on all of our laundry. At a cost of $14.86 for 200 oz it was no shock that it was latterly money going down the drain. I needed to find an alternative to this expensive detergent but at the time of my first daughter there were no alternatives to Dreft.
A few years later when my second daughter came along, I switch back from regular detergent to Dreft and once a gain what a price shocker. This time though there were a few alternatives. In the 2 short years between my daughters several companies had begun making alternatives to Dreft. The first one I tries was by Purex. The price was cheap but it just didn't seem to do the job. I had tried a few other store brand detergents before I found All for baby.
All for baby worked great. In fact it worked better than even the Dreft. See it has a stain fighter in the detergent. With the Dreft I was wash and rewash to make sure things came out clean even if I pretreated the stains. All for baby I was shocked it changed the way I do laundry. I realized that I could wash once and the clothes came out clean. Dreft can't beat All for Baby. The price is about $5 less than Dreft and it washes well. The price for a 200 oz bottle is only $ 9.97. Wow, what a saving not to mention what you save by only having to wash once. It makes it affordable enough to use on the entire families clothes and really that saves your water bill when you can combine laundry together. I still use All for baby since my youngest daughter has very sensitive skin. It is great on even my husband's stinky clothes.
My husband had thought that I finally learned how to do laundry or that I had went out and got a new washer since the clothes were coming out so much cleaner. It really is amazing at the difference the job that ALL Baby does compared to the twice as expensive Dreft. All Baby does not claim to keep the fire retardant chemicals on the clothes. This is probably the difference in actually having clean clothes though. When I explained to him I had only changed detergents he was amazed. He could not believe the difference that the change in detergent made.
I strongly encourage you to try All Baby if you are currently using Dreft. You will be amazed at the difference in your clothes and they will still have that baby fresh smell. I don't believe that it makes a difference which detergent you use on your baby as long as it is sensitive on babies skin. Why not use the less expensive detergent especially if it provides better results.

I believe All has a very similar detergent called ALL FREE-CLEAR. You can find this at Wal-mart.
I bought All Baby this weekend and on the container it specifically states it does not affect the flame retardant chemicals on baby clothes. However, it does contain perfumes. I decided to buy it anyway (but I have not tried it yet). I have never seen All Baby before - I really hope I don't have problems finding it in stores.
My son who is now 3 still have sentive skin, I have also used BABY ALL and I LOVE IT! I have tried ERA which I do use for my cloths and there is just something about BABY ALL! It made the poop, throw smell and everything go away! with only one wash! PLEASE DONT EVER DO AWAY WITH BABY ALL! I STILL BUY IT!

If you have a BIG LOTS discount store in your area try searching for ALL there. I happened to locate All detergent for babies last week. It has a light smell and works pretty good. Good luck.
I emailed the company and this was their response

hmmm - sounds like they are trying to push the regular All Free/Clear which is what I use on our clothes but liked the baby all for my Daughter.
I also used baby All. NOt only does it leave clothes feeling soft but it has a light and fresh scent. To my surprise I could no longer find it at Walmart, then and associate said that they no longer carry and I can't find it in any other stores around town. I am disappointed but wil continue to look. To anyone else who comes across buy as much as you can because it is well worth it.
I found baby ALL at Walmart, however they no longer carry it, Jewel Food stores have it but a an insane price. starting to think that mabey the free and clear is taking its place
