Dress Up like Charlotte from Sex and the City for Halloween

P
Halloween is coming up, so let's decide what we'll be dressing up as! Here, I'll be explaining how to dress up like Charlotte from Sex and the City for Halloween. The first step in this process is to figure out what to wear. Dressing up as Charlotte isn't as hard as dressing up as Carrie, so that'll make this easier. Charlotte is known for being a classic, simple beauty. She wears simple dresses with simple prints and simple cuts.

Clothing:

A dress like the one shown here:

Would suffice very well, if you don't want to get too crazy. It screams "Charlotte!" and is an extremely easy dress to find or duplicate.

But if you really want to make yourself look like Charlotte, it'll be a little harder than that.

She is well known for her classic, simple business-like outfits, with an almost vintage 1940's vibe through-out.

The outfit shown here is also totally Charlotte, and it's very cute as well!

But my first pick, clothing-wise, would be an ensemble much like the one in the following picture:

It's simple, elegant and definitely Charlotte.

Jewelry:

For jewelry, I'd go with one big fake diamond cocktail ring, some silver/diamond stud earrings and a single chain bracelet.

Makeup:

Charlotte (like Carrie) wears minimal makeup in Sex and the City.

She wears a musky brown or charcoal shadow on the rims of her eyelids, a little brow pencil and some black eyeliner on the outer corner of her upper lid for her eyes.

She wears a rosy blush on the apples of her cheeks, and a natural lip-colored lipstick, sometimes pink.

It's pretty simple really.

Hair:

Charlotte's hair in Sex and the City is just divine! It's creamy and long and silky.

If you have lighter or darker hair, dying it a chocolate brown with some lighter high lights will really do the trick.

Wash and condition your hair, part it on the right side, dry it and straighten it.

Take a really big-barreled curling iron (and I mean really big) and wrap large (4-5 inch) sections of hair around the barrel. Hold for 10 seconds, and slowly pull down.

Do this for the rest of your head.

Props:

The only props recommended for Charlotte are a cute, simple clutch or hand-bag.

And maybe a wine glass. :)
