I remember awhile ago when I bought my dog a pair of devil horns during the Halloween season. Just to wear around the house because he can be a bit of a devil. He thought it was game and constantly kept taking them off. I let him play with them for a time but eventually I had to take them away from him because he wanted to tear right through the horns. Years ago, I didn't see as many costumes at stores like Pet People, PetSmart and PETCO but take a look today! Halloween is a bigger seller for all three stores. If you live in San Diego, California and are going to dress up your dog or cat, take a look at what I have for you below.
Jagger and Kristi's 6th Annual Halloween Pet Costume Contest
Location: Otay Ranch Town Center, Birch Road, Chula Vista
Date: October 31st
Time: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Jagger and Kristi are radio deejays on the station Magic 92.5 here in San Diego and every year they hold a pet costume competition for animals. This year, they will also have a costume competition for the owners along with some prizes as well as games. On their website, it says to place your pet in the competition, you must send a description along with a photo of your animal that also includes the age as well as the name. You can send it via email to jaggerandkristi@magic925.com . They have a photo up of last year's winners which is pretty adorable to say the least. So let's see your creativity and get those costumes going! Oh and I'm assuming that this is for dogs and cats (since there are photos of them on the website) but I could have sworn somebody had a ferret dressed up one year. Just email them if you have to and I'm sure you can find out. To go to their website, click the link below.

Pet Halloween Costume Contest on NBC San Diego
Here is something that might be less traumatizing for your pet. The NBC 7/39 station in San Diego is selecting pictures from owners who send in photos of their pets in costumes. They are looking for the best Halloween costume here. I don't believe there is a prize, but you will have your pet's picture up on their website. You can look at last year's winners just to get an idea of what your pet will be up against. My favorite is the pug dressed up in a fire hydrant. For more information, go to the website below.
