Dressing to Impress: Things You Should Avoid Wearing on a First Date

Picking an outfit for a first date with a new guy or girl can be quite daunting. Most of the time people make many fashion mistakes when it comes to dressing for a first date. Ladies, when going out on a first date with a new guy, avoid wearing high stiletto heels. This can come across as extremely intimidating to a guy and you don't want to give the him the impression that you are a diva. Opt for wearing kitten heels or ballet flats instead, as these shoes are both stylish and sweet without being over the top. On a first date, you really want to play it down and leave something to the imagination, so whatever you do, do not dress overly sexy. Stay away from mini skirts, sheer blouses, halter tops, or any kind of top that is too low cut. Guys are only human, and if you dress in anything too revealing it may give them the wrong impression of you. This is a major turn-off for women, and if you want the chance of a second date with her, show up wearing nice khaki dress slacks or fitted jeans. Don't wear dirty sneakers, old work shirts with holes, or a backwards baseball cap. Wear a nice button up dress shirt and nice shoes that you would wear to church or to a job interview. Make sure you shower beforehand and use just a little bit of cologne or aftershave. Trust me fellas, a guy that dresses nice and smells good is more than irresistible to a woman.
