Dried Flower Crafts: Pansy Lampshade

W.S.
Dried flowers are a wonderful medium for crafts. Use this simple method to make a gorgeous dried pansy lampshade. This lampshade will bring a soft, purple light to any room and it's unbelievably easy to make. Dried flower crafts have never been easier!

Dried Flower Crafts: Pansy Lampshade - Materials Needed

The first ingredient you need to make the pansy lampshade is, of course, dried pansies. If you don't already have dried pansies for other dried flower crafts, you can dry some yourself or purchase them pre-dried at craft and hobby stores.

The other materials you need for this dried flower craft are lavender spray paint, tweezers, toothpicks, craft glue and a lamp with lampshade. A brass or copper lamp looks especially nice with a dried pansy lampshade. These items can all be easily found at local craft and hobby stores. If you are unable to find any of the materials locally, you can always order them online.

Dried Flower Crafts: Pansy Lampshade - Step #1

The first step to make the pansy lampshade is to paint the lampshade. Lightly spray it with the lavender spray paint, taking care to apply as even a coat as possible. Allow the lavender spray paint to dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step of making the pansy lampshade.

Dried Flower Crafts: Pansy Lampshade - Step #2

The second step to make the pansy lampshade is to pick up the pansies using the tweezers. Be very careful not to rip or tear the petals. Then, apply craft glue to the back sides of the pansies using a toothpick.

Dried Flower Crafts: Pansy Lampshade - Step #3

The final step to make the pansy lampshade is to apply the pansies to the lampshade. Carefully arrange them around the lampshade. You may want to overlap the petals for a more pleasing effect. Once you've arranged them to your satisfaction, allow the glue to dry thoroughly before turning the lamp on.

Now you've made a beautiful pansy lampshade that will bring a bit of nature to the inside of your home. Switch on the lamp and enjoy the soft, warm light. These dried flower crafts also make excellent gifts for the women in your life.

TIP: If you don't have access to dried pansies, you could use any small, dried flower with petals. Simply use a corresponding color of spray paint and follow the instructions above for making the pansy lampshade. Many dried flower crafts are very versatile.
