Drifter's Song

Nothing but Another Name

bw Frampton
Sifting through the ashes
that was once a man named me
Remembering all the dreams that burned away

Nothing at all to lead me on
All I count on is this thumb
and the loneliness of drifters,
willing to share some time

And it feels so far from home tonight
if I ever had one at all
Life became tattered
when nothing else mattered
but the thrill of the rise and the fall
Yes, the silence of solitude hurts sometimes
yet, the sting just isn't the same
when the love that was felt in another's heart
becomes nothing but another name
