Drink Sweet Chrysanthemum Tea to Cool Down the Body and Clear Congestion
Chrysanthemum Tea Has a Wonderful Flavor and Provides Several Benefits
A Treasure for Your Senses
A light floral scent lifts from its surface, reminiscent of early Spring's blossoms. The tea itself is nearly transparent but for the yellow and white buds or petals of the Chrysanthemum floating in the glass. A sip of the tea by itself is an intriguing and refreshing infusion of a slightly sweet and slightly bitter flavor. Hot or iced, Chrysanthemum Tea keeps its light flavor, and, often times it is served with rock sugar, honey, or fruit to capture its sweetness better. Caffeine free and satisfying, it can be a relaxing hot cup of tea in the morning or an iced beverage to take outside on a hot day. It can be purchased by itself or mixed with either berries or traditional green or pu-erh tea.
Benefits for Every Season
As I have already mentioned, Chrysanthemum Tea can be served hot or cold. This is a good thing, considering that its health benefits can stretch into every season, from the hot summer to the cold winter when flu season is upon us. Essentially, Chrysanthemum Tea in Chinese medicine is used to "cool" down the internal organs of the body. What does this mean? Chrysanthemum Tea is often drunk after eating greasy foods or drinking heavy liquors that are harsh on the digestive system. The Chrysanthemum is said to take the heat from the internal organs. However, this doesn't just concern the digestive system; chrysanthemum tea is also taken to treat heatstroke and reduce fevers. It is even given to patients with high blood pressure.
Aside from cooling down the body, Chrysanthemum Tea is also beneficial in detoxifying the blood. In turn, it helps to the sinuses to remain clear through cold and allergy season. In detoxifying the body, it also helps to provide a clear skin complexion. In fact, it is so well known for acting against blemishes and acne, that many Chinese women cleans their faces with a Chrysanthemum Tea bath.
Here in the West, Chrysanthemum tea is often drunk to treat varicose veins and similar circulatory problems.
Purchasing Chrysanthemum
Chrysanthemum petals will appear white or yellow and can be purchased in small tea bags mixed with other herbs or teas. More commonly, it can be bought as whole blossoms, or it can purchased in its bud form. No matter what form it is bought in, it still provides benefits and a light, sweet flavor that will delight the senses. It can be purchased at several online stores including http://www.teacuppa.com/Chrysanthemum-Bud-Tea.asp and http://www.china4u2.com/.
