Drinks Over Dearborn Closing

I was disappointed when I heard that Drinks Over Dearborn was closing on December 31, 2010. I used to stop by this establishment every time I needed to bring wine or beer to my sister's house for an occasion. She is somewhat of a wine aficianado and her husband is a beer nut. Since I am neither, and know little about anything alcohol, I would go there for their expertise on what to bring. Located at 650 North Dearborn in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, it was easy to get to on my weekly visits to the Lincoln Park area.

On two occasions, my sister and brother-in-law attended events there -- one was a wine tasting and the other, for my brother-in-law, was a drink or whiskey class. I think it was something like "Whiskey 101," which was a birthday gift for him. He really enjoyed it and said he learned a lot. The Drinks Over Dearborn website says that although they'll be closing on December 31, 2010, customers can still stop by and get some great X-mas gifts before they do close. Kyle and the rest of the staff were so helpful and friendly, and I know their customers will miss them.
