Drive Traffic to Your Associated Content Articles with Twitter

Matthew Shively
Twitter is a great place for networking and driving lots of traffic to your personal Web sites using your followers from Twitter. At first I was skeptical to join Twitter thinking that it was going to be just another blogging website where people only read the topic they found on a search engine and never came back, but it turned out to be so much more than that.

It only took about a week to create an astounding list of Twitter followers that drive traffic to my articles on Associated Content. In addition, I have learned a lot thru networking will fellow tweeters out there. As I was sitting back going through Twitter ads I realized that this would be an awesome place to market my own content and market other's as well. So I placed a tweet on my page offering to market each other's materials. Wow, I did not believe the response I received. This has in turn increased, almost doubled, the amount of traffic driven to my Associated Content content pages.

The one thing that infuriated me in the beginning was all the marketing and advertising tweets to make money on Twitter. I had to look past these to get to the tweets that were interesting to me. Then I thought for a second. This is a great place to advertise, I mean there were so many people marketing and advertising when I did a search on the Twitter website. So I created another Twitter account, created a new list of Twitter followers, and then paid attention to good affiliate marketing links. Why not see if I could make some money on Twitter? Why not see if it works? Well it does indeed work. I made almost $20 the first day of marketing affiliate websites like RevTwt, HD Publishing Group, and ClickBank. This was also an opportunity I took to advertise Associated Content and perhaps get some referrals through the Associated Content referral program. There are just so many opportunities on Twitter when networking.

I found it difficult in the beginning to get a lot of Twitter followers to my profile unless I went out and searched on Twitter and spent many hours choosing the right people and following them. Until I found a Twitter link through networking that gave me the option of choosing a group of people then selecting the ones I wanted. Once I did this I just entered my Twitter username and password clicked submit and wham I had an additional 100 people I was following. Now this may increase the number of tweets you receive on Twitter, but the best part is a majority of them will follow you. Since yesterday I have an additional 150 followers because I was using the targeted lists on TweepML.

Before I started networking on the Twitter website I would drive traffic through search engines, Facebook, Myspace, and Myyearbook. I would probably get five to ten views on my Associated Content publications a day. Honestly, that doesn't really add up to much. Even though I write for Associated Content for my own pleasure and not necessarily to become wealthy overnight, using Twitter has almost doubled my daily views. This isn't the only thing to use Twitter for. You can drive traffic to all your personal, business, or blog sites by just tweeting the information and allowing your Twitter followers to peruse through your material.

Due to the amount of tweets rolling through Twitter from those you are following it is imperative that you keep retweeting information so it is fresh on your list of tweets. Otherwise it will just disappear as more tweets keep coming through on your follower pages. In addition, for those that you follow on Twitter you can sign up on Twitter to receive text messages when there is a new tweet from that specific Twitterer. I have several individuals that I follow and receive updates on my cell phone for. NOTE: make sure your cell phone plan has unlimited texting, because your bill may be high due to the volume of texts you may receive. This is how I stay updated when I am at work. If I am not interested I just delete it. If I am interested I leave it on my cell phone until I get home and then type in the URL to see the information.

If you haven't already started using the Twitter website then you don't know what you're missing. This is a wonderful piece of Internet technology that will drive traffic to your sites plus create a wonderful networking suite full of Twitter followers.

I've just started to use Twitter myself. I'll have to see if it helps my PVs. Not convinced yet.

Wow, this is amazing. I have to try it! I know all about Twitter, but I didn't want something that will endlessly eat away my time like facebook has. But, after reading your article, I will give it another try. :D

Karen it is definitely a great way to increase PVs once you get some followers. If you get into it my Twitter ID is afshively, let me know if you have any questions. Also, contributor Crystal Ray is really smart with the Twitter as well.

Very helpful! Eventually I will join Twitter, but right now I'm trying to learn all I can about it. Everyone seems to agree that it's a great way to increase your pvs.
