Driving Tips for San Jose Airport from Palo Alto, CA

Palo Alto travelers who frequent the local airports are familiar with the best routes to take. San Francisco International went through a major overhaul several years ago, making navigating the airport easier than in the past.

San Jose Mineta International is still under construction, although the new terminal B is open for business. The main construction that continues at San Jose Mineta is on the exterior of the airport, making driving a little difficult. If you don't fly very often you will need to know the changes at San Jose Mineta.

Getting to the right airline, for instance, Terminal A airlines now include: American, Continental, Hawaii, Jet Blue, Mexicana, United, US Airways, and Volaris. Terminal B serves Alaska, Delta, Horizon and Southwest.

When you make the first turn into the airport, if your flight leaves out of terminal A, you will need to start navigating to the right. The lanes continue to change so keep watch of the signs and keep to the right until you get to the departure/arrival signs.

Arrivals for terminal A are to the left and departures to the right. Also, if you plan to park short term, the garage entrance is the first lane to the far left of the arrival lane.

For terminal B the lane is to the immediate left just after you enter the airport. There is also a new short-term parking structure for terminal B.

Long term parking remains the same.
