As we approach the year 2008, people will undoubtedly make resolution after resolution after resolution. By March of next year we'll be thinking of something else and forgetting about the promises we made on December 31st. Never mind that, you still have time to be a doer. Yes, there is one thing that separates the doers from the talkers. The talkers talk and the doers take action.
There are some people who really take the New Year seriously. They set goals, focus on those goals and try to make them happen. Let 2008 be your year for change! When we look better we feel better. Beauty is not only what's on the surface, but truly what's inside. Love you this New Year and here are 10 things you can do to up your look. .
Change your hair
You may not believe it, but changing your hairstyle or hair color is quite significant. Picture this - we see ourselves everyday right? But, the real question is do you really know how you look? It's easy to get complacent with our "old" hair. You don't need to cut off 2 inches of hair to change your look for 2008. You could trim, highlight, or even change the color. A new hairstyle for the New Year is just what you need to recreate yourself. Go for it!
Change the colors you wear
Are you a basic black wearer? Well, if you are think about upgrading your style to color. Throw your favorite black jeans or shirt back into the drawer! Go shopping, browse the isles and land your eyes on color. Scan out colors and you don't need to choose a bold color. Pick a color that's right for you. Most people wear black because it is a safe. Think navy blue, maroon, cream, or even pink. Changing the colors you wear can enhance your new look for the New Year. People will notice the change. Believe it!
Take the stairs
All year long you've taken the elevator. Now it's time to take the stairs! Walking is not only great for your health, but equally important it's great for your legs. Take the stairs this New Year. Your body will love you for it.
Drink more water
H2O is one of our greatest natural resources. Committing to drink more water is a great step towards health and beauty. Water has been known to lighten the skin, take away blemishes and give you a glowing appearance. This new year drink more water! It's the oldest beauty secret nobody talks about anymore!
Set goals
Goal setting is imperative for the New Year. When we set goals we are more apt to keep them then we are resolutions. Our goals are our way of reaffirming our power. We think, therefore we are. Set goals this new year and watch your inner light shine. Working towards goals is one way to revamp your New Year look.
Charity
Charity is a way we give back to those who are less fortunate. Even if you're looking for a new job, living paycheck to paycheck-doing something for someone else is beyond rewarding. Treat yourself this New Year! Start by volunteering an hour or two a month. Try a random act of kindness. People who do for others have less stress. Less stress equals beauty. If you're beautiful on the inside, it'll show on the outside!
Change routine
Sometimes you really need to go the road less traveled. Change your routine for the new year. Take another route to work. Walk to the store instead of driving. Stop by a local bakery and grab a croissant in the morning. A new life begins with change.
Take a dance or art class
Art has a way of helping us through life. Ever look at a portrait and was swept away by its intricate design? Incorporate some art into your life for the New Year. Dance classes are not only fun, but can do wonders for the body. Taking an art class could help you tap into your creative side. It's all about seeking something different.
Seek spiritual guidance
Whatever you believe in take your beliefs to the next level. Spirituality in any form makes us whole. Getting in touch with your spirituality could prove to be the smartest thing you do in the New Year.
Clean out your closet---literally and figuratively!
Literally clean out your closet before the New Year begins. Get rid of old clothes and worn out memories. A fresh start can help you make positive decisions for the coming year. Contact your local thrift store and donate your old garments. Give them away to someone who may need them. Figuratively clean out your closet for the New Year. Get rid of the old people in your life. Leave the always negative folks behind. Positive energy is what you seek. Cleaning out your physical closet and your life closet will be your pathway towards change. The New Year awaits you and all that is grand!
