Drop-Off Policy at Walt Disney Magnet School

When a good friend of mine asked me to take her daughter to school in the morning for a few days while her car was in the shop, I didn't hesitate to say yes. Since I was working up North for the week that her car was being fixed, it wouldn't be a problem for me to take her daughter. I did however, need to get back to work quickly, and I knew that from taking my own daughter to school, the drop-off area at schools can be hectic and the traffic just crawls at times. I was pleasantly surprised that when I got to the drop-off area at Walt Disney Magnet School, located at 4140 Marine Drive in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood, the whole process ran so smoothly.

The morning drop-off policy at the Disney School, according to their website, states that the kids cannot be dropped off before 7:30 a.m. because there is no supervision, and furthermore, they request that the students have their backpacks and coats ready as they near the drop-off point, so they don't waste time, and hold up the flow of traffic. If parents have difficulty, they can pull into one of the parking spots, where they can assist their children. I was also surprised to see so many staff members at the drop-off points that made the whole process quick and efficient.
