Drowning in Credit Card Debt

Amanda
Credit card debt is taking over my life! I work at a job that pays a tiny bit more then minimum wage. Sometimes I want to get things that are not in my budge so out comes the credit card. Now I stare at my bills in shock knowing that I will never be able to get out of this debt.

There is no exaggerations when I say I will never be able to get out of debt. I looked at one of my three credit card bills today. All three of my cards are maxed out, not all was my fault. With the economic crisis the credit card companies had made a lot of changes one is which they lower a person credit limit. They do this without notice so out of nowhere my card is maxed out and actually I had gone over my limit so now I have to pay a fine for that. It really is aggregating every time these bills come in and to be declined when you think you have extra money on your card is incredibly embarrassing. Everyone is looking down at you thinking that you are poor and can not manage your own money.

Well like I was saying I looked at one of my bills reading on it and my bill is for 1,500 minimum payment 55 dollars. So it says if I no longer make any charges to this bill and pay the minimum payment each time I will pay this balance off in 19years! 19 years I do not have 19 years to pay one bill. Plus not only will I be paying for 19years but I will be also be paying twice the money I charged on my bill thanks to the annual percentage charge rate.

The A.P.R. on cards are going up and up. I saw and increase on every single one of my bills form 11% to almost 20% on one of my cards. I recently saw on a consumer report on televisions that soon companies can charge up to 70% on their cards. How are we ever suppose to get out of debt? Not only does this put my financially in the red but I also will now have an awful credit report. That means loans will be denied apartments and houses will be denied. I should just give up now. My only hope now is trying to find a second job so I can pay more then the minimum payment. But with the jobs being scarce I really do not have much of chance of getting a second job any time soon. Did I mention that I am a college graduate? I thought things were suppose to get better for me when I graduated? Did I mess up my whole life buy opening up a credit card?
