If you have sensitive skin or you're prone to allergies, you don't have to spend a bundle on expensive beauty products for personal care. There are a variety of drugstore beauty product bargains for sensitive skin that are affordable, effective and won't break the bank. Some department store moisturizers and anti-aging beauty products cost over a hundred dollars and these products can sometimes aggravate allergies or cause skin irritation in sensitive individuals.
In my experience, drugstore beauty products often work better on sensitive skin than the pricey department store alternatives and best of all, they often cost less than ten dollars! Read on to discover the best drugstore beauty product bargains for sensitive skin.
Drugstore Beauty Product Bargains for Sensitive Skin: Facial Care
Drugstore beauty product bargains like facial cleansers and moisturizers can work well for sensitive skin and many are under ten dollars. Dove Beauty Bar, a mild soap for face and body, is one quarter moisturizing cream. This Dove soap comes in a scented white bar, and a sensitive skin version that is hypoallergenic and fragrance free. (Although I'm quite sensitive, I've used the scented white Dove Beauty Bar for many years; I find it a bit creamier and more hydrating than Dove soap for sensitive skin).
Olay products are inexpensive, gentle on sensitive skin and they have certainly stood the test of time (your mother or grandmother probably had a bottle of Oil of Olay in her medicine cabinet). The new Oil of Olay (now called simply Olay) remains on the cutting edge of anti-aging skincare. Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin gently washes away dirt and makeup and this product is soap free, fragrance free and it contains oil free moisturizers.
Olay Moisturizing Lotion for Sensitive Skin is another great drugstore beauty product bargain. This product quenches delicate skin with soothing moisture and doesn't contain any harsh fragrances (if you're highly sensitive, look for Olay products with the green label marked "sensitive skin").
So many expensive anti-aging creams and moisturizers in the marketplace today contain harsh ingredients that irritate mature, sensitive skin or cause painful allergies. Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream is a cool gel that gives parched skin a surge of much needed moisture, and is generally well tolerated by those with sensitive skin and allergies (some say it works just as well as department store moisturizers and it costs well under ten dollars!)
If you're looking for an anti-wrinkle drugstore beauty product bargain for sensitive skin, consider Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Daily Targeted Deep Wrinkle Treatment. It is gentle to the skin, allergy-tested and has "pro retinol from nature" to smooth and plump up the appearance of wrinkles (I am very sensitive with allergies, I've used this product with no reactions or irritation and I am very pleased with it).
Drugstore Beauty Product Bargains for Sensitive Skin: Bath and Body
Expensive and highly fragranced body washes and bath products can give you a spa-like experience in your tub and shower; unfortunately, these types of products can also cause rashes and allergies in sensitive people. The drugstore can be a fantastic resource for mild but highly effective bath products that feel luxurious and don't cause problems for sensitive skin.
Gillette makes a variety of drugstore beauty product bargains for sensitive skin. The Gillette Venus Embrace Razor is, in my opinion, the best razor in the marketplace for people with delicate skin. The Venus Embrace Razor has five blades that produce an exceptionally close shave without nicks, cuts and razor burn (as someone who scars easily, I appreciate the gentleness of the Venus Embrace Razor!)
The Venus Embrace Razor is complemented by another wonder product: Skintimate Moisturizing Shave Gel. I have used the Skintimate Moisturizing Shave Gel in the "light pink" container for years and experience no skin irritation or allergies with this product.
Skintimate Moisturizing Shave Gel for Dry Skin has a light fragrance that doesn't linger too long after a bath or shower, and it contains vitamin E and lanolin to provide one of the best possible shaving experiences. New Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave also produces a wonderfully close, nick-free shave, but the heavier scent might be a turn off for those who are highly sensitive to fragrance.
Dove Body Wash for Sensitive Skin is another essential drugstore beauty product bargain for sensitive people. This creamy body wash contains soap free cleansers, is hypoallergenic and a little goes a long way. A small amount of Dove Body Wash for Sensitive Skin can produce enough lather for your entire bath or shower (this product is also ideal for shaving legs and underarms).
Drugstore Beauty Product Bargains for Sensitive Skin: Best Product
What is the best drugstore beauty product bargain for sensitive skin? I can't live without Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion, which helped me survive yet another brutal East Coast winter. I tried a high priced department store moisturizer to hydrate my winter skin, but I ended up with eye allergies and skin irritation.
I turned to Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion, as it was the only product mild enough to moisturize my chapped skin without causing any rash or allergies. Cetaphil is great for fall and winter and also ideal for beach ravaged and parched summer skin. Cetaphil moisturizer can be used on your face, elbows, legs and feet, and anywhere your sensitive skin needs moisture without irritation.
You don't have to stock up on expensive department store beauty products to pamper your delicate, sensitive skin. If you are prone to allergies or you have sensitive skin, you'll appreciate this list of gentle but highly effective drugstore beauty product bargains that will help you save money and look great!

Post a CommentAllison, suffering from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities,, and therefore extremely sensitive to fragrances, I tried Dove fragrance free soap. I was really hopeful of it working because it is certainly a lot cheaper than what I now use. I was highly disappointed and sick for a few days following. I found that it actually had more fragrance and was more offensive to me than most scented soaps. Sorry, just telling you my experience with this products.
Thanks Allison, helpful indeed!
Thanks Allison. This is a very helpful article because you have used these products and saying after using them. I am going to try the Garnier one for anti aging now. I am happy with Oil Of Olay too - the basic moisturising lotion with sunscreen for every day use. I don't know if the pricey Total Olay is any better than that. To me they were very similar!.
