Dry Fresh Parsley for Use Later On

Alicia Bodine
In order to dry your parsley you will need to gather the following items together:

1. Parsley
2. Food scissors
3. Baking sheet
4. Parchment paper
5. Water
6. Paper towels
7. Resealable plastic bags

These steps will get your parsley dried and ready for use later on:

Step 1:
Turn your oven on to 150 degrees F. You will need to dry them at a low temperature so you don't scorch them.

Step 2:
Cut a piece of parchment paper to fit a baking sheet. Lay the parchment on the baking sheet.

Step 3:
Cut the stems off of the parsley and then gently wash the leaves under running water. These stems don't have any flavor so you won't need to save them.

Step 4:
Dry the leaves by patting them down with paper towels. You can place them in between two paper towels and then gently press.

Step 5:
Place your parsley on the parchment paper without letting the sprigs touch each other. You want them to dry separately.

Step 6:
Bake for 40 minutes and remove from the oven. Wait for them to cool down before you continue on to the next step.

Step 7:
Place the parsley in plastic bags and seal. Try to squeeze the air out before you close the zipper. You can also opt to store them in an airtight container, but it is harder to get the air out of a container than it is with a plastic zipper bag.

Step 8:
Store in a cool dark place. This is anywhere that doesn't get a lot of sunlight.

Tips:
Be sure to check the parsley for mold before you wash it.

Warnings:
Don't crumble up the parsley until you are ready to use it. This will keep the flavor in the parsley until you are ready to eat it.
