Dry Skin Brushing Treatment

Detoxifying From the Outside-In

*e!
I'm not sure where or when I first heard of dry skin brushing, but it is something I've been doing for most of my adult life and has become an important part of my daily routine. I know that dry skin brushing is a practice that is centuries old and is something that spas and salons offer as a cellulite treatment. (Of course, I don't have cellulite) As a detox exercise, skin brushing has been one of the most effective things I've ever used to improve my health and well being.

Skin brushing feels good. Not just for the skin, but for the mind and body as a whole. It's almost ritualistic and peaceful when I am alone with my skin; it's like saying goodbye to a long day and being given back energy, good health, and peace of mind in return. It's about cleansing and rejuvenation. Out with the old, in with the new.

The skin is the largest organ of the body; it is the organ responsible for ΒΌ of the body's detoxification and one of the most important elimination organs of the body. The skin is the last to receive nutrients in the body but it is the first to show signs of imbalance and deficiency. Healthy skin should have the ability to eliminate two pounds of waste daily

Some indicators of toxic overload in the body are frequent colds and infections, weakness, and low energy.

Dry skin brushing is an easy, natural way to help stimulate the skin so that it can work at its maximum potential by gently removing the dead layers of skin that block the effective elimination of toxins through our skin. Besides the obvious, (softer and smoother skin); there are many more benefits to dry skin brushing.

Skin brushing:

Tightens skin (You can bounce a quarter off my.........)

Improves digestion (Definitely)

Improves the appearance of cellulite (What cellulite?)

Stimulates circulation (I can totally hear my blood)

Stimulates the Glands, which helps all of the body systems perform better. (I feel good)

Cleanses the lymphatic system (ahhhh...)

Increases cell renewal (New cells, please!)

Strengthens Immune system (Who hardly ever gets sick? Me, that's who!)

Improves the exchange between cells (Thanks, cells!)

Our bodies make a new layer of skin every 24 hours! So, taking the 5-10 minutes to brush your skin every day will give your skin the chance to breathe, eliminate toxins, and absorb nutrients.

Skin brushing can be done at any time of the day but you should only use a natural bristle brush because synthetic fiber brushes will scratch your skin too much. I prefer to do my skin brushing at night because I know throughout the day I have accumulated all kinds of toxins and it helps my mind rest easier knowing that I'm not taking them to bed with me.

To dry brush, always use a dry, natural, brush with a long handle. Always brush your skin when it's dry, wet skin will not have the same effect. Begin at your feet and slowly work your way up to the neck using firm and rhythmic strokes upwards, towards the heart. Brush the entire body this way. When you get to the stomach and chest areas, brush in a circular motion. Skin should be flushed but not super red, if it is then you're brushing too hard. Avoid brushing the sensitive skin of the nipples, ouch. And use very light brushing on your face, get a smaller, softer bristled brush if you like. After brushing, always take a warm shower or bath to wash away the dead skin and impurities that the brushing has removed and follow with a cool rinse to boost blood circulation. Wash your brush every week in water and let it dry before using it again.

Try it; you will notice a difference in a week. Thank you and your welcome.
