Most clothes dryers have a lint trap, and many people think that is all they need to worry about. Unfortunately, lint keeps building up in other parts of the dryer, which the lint trap does not take care of.
That is where the Dryer Max Lint Cleaning Kit is supposed to come in. For $19.99 at Walgreens (In their As Seen on TV section) we picked up this three piece kit.
What you get for your money when you get the Dryer Max Lint Cleaning Kit is: a 36 Inch Lint trap Vent brush. This is a stiff bristled round brush that you use to clean the vent where it attaches to the wall. You need to move your dryer out from the wall and take the vent hose off, so you can use this brush to clean the hose that connects into the wall. I did notice that the flexible handle for this brush is a bit flimsy and difficult to control.
Then the Dryer Max Lint Cleaning Kit has a 10 inch rear vent brush. This is a long brush that looks like a bottle brush to me. You use this to clean the vent in the back of your dryer. I did not see a lot of lint when I used this brush, so I guess that means the lint trap on my dryer must be doing a pretty good job.
The last piece of the kit that makes up the Dryer Max Lint Cleaning Kit is a vacuum cleaner attachment. You use this to attach to your vacuum cleaner, and clean out the lint trap. There is a long flexible hose or handle that pushes the brush into the dryer vent and clean it out.
After I used the Dryer Max Lint Cleaning Kit I could not really tell if I got a lot of lint out of my dryer hose with the long brush, as it seemed to me that if it did anything at all, it might have just pushed any dust, dirt or lint further into the hose. If nothing else, I think all I did was to push the dirt closer to the vent outside the house.
The Dryer Max Lint Cleaning Kit is a good idea as far as it goes, but I really have no idea if my dryer is working any more efficiently or drying my clothes faster. Those are the claims the product makes, so I really cannot recommend the Dryer Max Lint Cleaning Kit.
