Dryvax Smallpox Vaccine Ingredients

The Dryvax vaccine is manufactured by Wyeth-Ayerst, it is no longer licensed due to expiration. The FDA and Department of Defense has suspended the licensing of the Dryvax and Wyeth-Ayerst did not reapply for renewal of the vaccine. As of March 2008 the DOD has gone to ACAM2000 vaccine manufactured by Acambis which received license approval Aug 31, 2007. However, according to the CDC website, unopened vials of Dryvax are to remain stockpiled by state and local health departments in the event of a Smallpox outbreak, (I'm sure they mean in case it is used as a weapon), and for continued vaccine activities, yet according to the JAMA, (Journal of the American Medical Association), the existing lots of Dryvax expire Feb 29, 2008 and should not be administered after that date. Therefore it is still important to understand the ingredients used in the manufacturing process and potential dangers of such ingredients. (see the CDC and JAMA links below)

The Dryvax Smallpox Vaccine ingredients include: live vaccinia virus, with "some microbial contaminants", Antibiotics: polymyxcin B sulfate, streptomycin sulfate, chlortetracycline hydrochloride, and neomycin sulfate, the chemicals glycerin, and phenol, and Vesicle fluid from calf skin.

Antibiotics are potential allergans and fortunately, at least until a war breaks out, Smallpox vaccines are not required unless you are military or in some other way me be exposed to Smallpox. If you are, you should be sure if you are allergic to any of these ingredients. Polymyxin B Sulphate is in trace amounts in the Dryvax vaccine and was discontinued in a lot of uses due to the number of severe reactions to it. Streptomycin sulfate is potentially toxic to humans and was used as an insecticide. It is carcinogenic, Neurotoxic, and toxic to reproductive and developmental functions. It is also a fungicide, however it's use in vaccines is as an antibiotic hopefully in smaller amounts than potential insecticidal uses. chlortetracycline hydrochloride is one of the tetracycline family of antibiotics, if you are allergic to tetracycline this should not be taken. Tetracycline is one of the antibiotics often used to treat eye infections. Neomycin sulfate is a strong antibiotic that is typically taken orally however it absorbs slowly through the intestine and most is discarded without absorption, in other words, your body is working like it should and will try to eject most of this potential poison. Through injection your body does not get this beneficial luxury. Neomycin sulfate is Neurotoxic, Ototoxic, and Neprhotoxic and has been known to cause respiratory paralysis after taking, even in normal dosage levels. You should research this antibiotic thoroughly before taking it or receiving the Dryvax vaccine, (if that situation arises), as well as attain a full understanding of potential interaction or effects in ongoing conditions before using it.

Phenyl is a caustic substance and according to the book Immunization by Catherine Dioti MA, potential side effects are systemic poisoning, Kidney damage, convulsions, cardiac failure, kidney failure, and even death. You can get more detail on Phenyl in my article, "Phenol in vaccines"

Smallpox is a horrendous and ugly disease and I am thankful that it is not an epidemic illness anymore, however I am appalled that human kind would hold reservoirs of this disease as a weapon as if we do not have destructive enough weapons already. The cruelty that one man can consider to inflict upon another is unspeakable. If ever I were to even consider a vaccine, smallpox would be on my list but I know life is short and when it is over it is forever and for this reason I will lean upon Psalm 118:8 and put my trust in the Lord rather than to put my confidence in man. I know what man is capable of.

Disclaimer: This article, "Dryvax Smallpox Vaccine Ingredients", is not intended to give medical advice. It is a call to educate yourself so that in making a decision where your child is concerned, you should take an active role in learning all you can from medical experts on both sides of the fence, then make an educated decision. we did not make an informed decision until one son got Leukemia and another developed Autism immediately after receiving his MMR vaccine. This has sent us on a quest to inform ourselves and others to seriously question what kind of toxic soups are being injected with the vaccines. Odds are if your child is injured by a vaccine, you have little or no recompense against the industry.
