D.S. On the Down Low

Becky, wifey's friend from the valley, whom I quote often in my articles on BetUS, asked me just this morning if I had heard the news about Pat Robertson and Rudy Giuliani.

I said no that I hadn't. Then, Becky went into a tear about it because, well, she had just gone jogging and while taking one of those deep breaths, she had gotten news on her IPod or some other such gadget and the news people had said that, to quote the Beckster, "Pat Robertson and Rudy Giuliani, like, are friends."

Now, my amazement at this had more to do with the news itself than the way Becky explained it. I mean, of course Pat Robertson and Rudy Giuliani are "friends". Why wouldn't they be? Both are old. Both are white. Both squint when they talk. And, they both wear glasses...sometimes.

Oh, I forgot the fact that they are both wealthy and one of them, I won't say which, is very, very old, and, considering what he said today, might be a bit senile.

Seriously, Pat, the founder of the Christian Coalition, the man whom the Lord himself has spoken to so very many times - - you support Rudy Giuliani?

As I often ask, "Are you kidding me, Becky? Are you?"

I began to wonder if the Lord had spoken to Pat Robertson about this last night. Maybe, the Lord, afraid that Mitt Romney might actually be the anti-Christ, decided to go ahead and tell Pat to throw his lunch money behind Rudy. After all, the name Rudy is synonymous with trying hard. Maybe, not with actual winning, but with at least trying hard and the Lord, and Pat, obviously likes a very hard trier.

By the way, that word - - trier - - came out of my "George's Book of Factual Words and Phrases".

Anyhow, me, being the type of citizen who thinks it best to look into things like incredibly fabricated statements about Pat Robertson and Rudy Giuliani being "friends", went ahead and took a deeper, more philosophical look at this.

Pat Robertson hates women. Yes, I know, I'm not the first guy to think that, but, seriously, he does. I mean, I've included a link for all of you to take a look at where Pat Robertson pretty much says he hates women.

And, when it comes to this election, there is one woman that he really hates - - Hillary Clinton.

Now, anybody who knows me understands that my feelings for Hillary may go beyond your normal "I Like IKE" thing. The hair-do, those conservative outfits, the breaking glass on the pavement voice - - well, you get the idea...

But, my realization that Pat Robertson actually hates women bothers me. Yes, like I said, almost everybody knows it, but do they really, truly, realize it?

I mean, it's sad. So, so, very sad. And, it's sad for Rudy to take Robertson's endorsement.

Heck, we all know Rudy doesn't hate women!
