Pat C Shes Right is the more accomplished of this dynamic duo, as she has chalked up grade A races in the win column at both venues. Shes Right has taken a backwards step on the track just once, amazingly in the very first route race she was entered in. Breaking in at Naples back in September of 2006 in the sprints, she showed the ability to come on in the late stages of the race. with exceptional vigor. Her early speed was almost nonexistent, but the black female out of DK's Prime Time and Some Cookie was such a powerful closer that she rapidly ascended the Naples grading ladder until reaching Grade A. Once there, she won two out of five sprints, coming from way back to run down all the leaders, and was switched to the longer 660 yard route for her first try two days before Christmas. Pat C Shes Right came out of the box on top and led all the way until tiring a bit late, losing in the stretch by a length. That race is the only one for both of these animals in which they led early.
Luckily her handlers decided to keep her over on the 3/8ths of a mile course, and she quickly returned to her old sprint habits- breaking poorly, beating hardly anyone to the first call, and then coming like gangbusters late. Shes Right did not win a route right away, but kept running second, third, and fourth. Finally she scored a triumph in one, winning from far back on January 20th of this year, the first of eight similar efforts in a two month period. After making the finals of a Naples route stakes in April, where she ran sixth, she was shipped to Dubuque to run the distances there.
It took Shes Right a while to get used to her new surroundings, and her trainer there decided that she could use even more yardage, entering her in marathons. To the surprise of no one, Shes Right would break slowly in these 2,310 foot long tilts and go to the first call like a kid going back to school in September, with little enthusiasm, but then she would find all of her gears and motor home. She won her first Dubuque marathon on June 2nd after being dead last at the quarter mile mark, and then ran a couple more in the money efforts before being ticketed for faltering in the front stretch of another race. Shes Right schooled back, and then won a 7/16ths of a mile affair on July 14th in identical fashion as her June triumph before being moved back to the 3/8ths races. A dull effort was followed by a twelve length romp in Grade A the next time out, and in her most recent adventure, Shes Right came from last to fall a length short of victory.
Pat C Get It must have had the same game plan as his sister, but the 82 pound black male is even slower early than she is, if that's possible. Get It did not meet with as much success at Naples as Shes Right did, never winning a top grade race and shuffling back and forth between the routes and the sprints. Once he arrived at Dubuque Greyhound Park, Get It seemed to get it a bit more, as he advanced to A the hard way; he won a sprint, a marathon, and then a 3/8ths, all from a good deal behind of course. Now he finds himself in with Dubuque's top routers, his sister among them, as he and she continue to thrill the betting public out in Iowa with their exciting style of racing.
