Mother Day is coming up and Father's Day is not far behind. Here are some suggestions for duel gifts for both parents on their special day.

On Father Day weekend there is the big festival upstate called Clearwater. This is an easy day trip on Metro North and a great chance to hear some music from the great Pete Seager. Go to the website www.clearwater.org for details on this environmental and music festival. Go with the whole family and take some great pictures of the Hudson Valley. This is great opportunity to hear great music that will suit everybodies taste. You can even go up early on camp as a family for the weekend.

You can give both your parents a duel present like a gift certificate for Jet Blue airlines. For the parents who like to gamble get them bus tickets for Atlantic City. For their trip you can buy them some great novels to read while they are traveling.

If your parents love chocolate make a chocolate themed gift basket. For example, you can put in Chocolate pudding, a chocolate themed umbrella, some chocolate cookies, buy them chocolate colored sweater and get some Godiva chocolate liquor. You can even give your parents a chocolate Labrador dog to keep them both companies. You can make other baskets too like a flavored coffee basket or a tea basket with sconces. Be creative and don't just buy a pre-made basket. Let the basket show your creativity and your love for your parents. Plus it is cheaper and you will get a bigger basket for less money. The thing that you should spend extra on is the making of this basket of your parent's favorite things.

Make them a photo collage of their old neighborhood or take some of their old slides and convert the slides to digital film. Also make an album that shows your parents on how they changed throught the decades.

Buy them a gift certificate to a gourmet grocery store that they normally may not go to buy their groceries. Let them eat like a king and queen. Buy them a good wine to enjoy with their dinner. Also, you buy them a membership to Costco.

If they both like beer or cheese or cakes then look into getting them enrolled in a montly food club where they will receive a diffierent food item each month.

Also, if they both like theater get them a theater membership club. You can buy them a series of plays from CIty Center in NYC, buy them a play by play theater membership subscripation where after the intial membership fee each play is $3.50 a ticket or have them join theater mania also in NYC.
Another good membership deal to consider is the Brooklyn Bontanical Gardens that costs fourty dollars. The garden offers a lot of sunset pinis after hours only to members. This is a great opportunity also for your parents to get some great pictures without the crowds during regular hours. Many museums offer membership offer extra perks too. The MOMA museum is a great deal for both the art and movie lover. Both are included in their membership. If one of your parents love film and the other loves art is works it can benefit both their tastes.

You can also see what street art you can pick up for your parents. It is nice to buy from locale artists who can give your parents their unique gift of their art. Sometimes if you give a street artist a picture they can make a sketch form their photograph in twenty minutes.

Record some stories from your parent's friends on their reflections on what makes your parents such great ones. You and your siblings can make a special tape of what they have taught you about life. Also, collect some family recipes from the relatives that you think they would enjoy.

Make them a brunch or barbecue at your home rather then going out on a very crowded and expensive day. Make them all their favorite foods and tell them to forget the diet that day and give into a day of indulgence of some fine rich foods.

Frame them some of the great art made by their grandchildren so they show off what great artists their grandchildren to their friends. You even buy them custom made totes bags from Land End with the name Mom or Dad printed on them. You can even think about giving them your own framed photographs or make them a photo tee-shirt, button mug or cup that you can order form O-foto.

Buy them some music that you think they would enjoy or make them a mixed tape of their favorite music that they can enjoy. If they are older get them an Ipod and show them how to use it.

Finally, write a letter or card and tell them how much they mean to you. Tell them you love them. It doesn't have to be a long one. Sometimes all you need to say is I Love You. Spending the day together and making new happy memories is sometimes the best gift they can receive.
