Dump It: Best Films of All-Time

'Wind' Has Been Seen by More People

Dump it time, so grab the toilet paper that some have suggested we put an additional tax on. Huh? Yes, you heard that right. No, you read it right.
- Let's see, there is plenty of dumping material for the weekend they want us to ignore. For example, anything that has to do with other humanitarian uprisings that we are not aiding. We are being played like a fiddle while others burn. Get out and speak strongly about the issues, pro or con. It doesn't matter if we agree or not. Be a leader.
- I found it funny the way people tried to defend the bracket fiasco, and it was one. It's not that he filed it out, it's all about timing. Who cares? We all filled one out but we are not the leader of the free world. yet, after you fill them in, do not forget to donate to Japan.
- Or, we are not authorizing air strikes on an oil rich country. Wait, does that mean? We went in because of oil? You will not hear that now. I do not care if we did, because, let's face it, the world runs on oil.
- Why is it that when a Republican woman runs for office, she is labeled dumb and not fit? I may not want Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman to run or win, but I will not spend my days and nights trashing them for making a living and being a thorn in the side of others. It's fun to watch people go ballistic, though.
- The list that People magazine and ABC.com voters picked as Best in Film: 1. "Gone With The Wind" 2. "Wizard of Oz" 3. "Godfather" 4. "Casablanca" and 5. "ET"
Note: More people have bought tickets to see "Gone With the Wind" than any other movie - - ever.
Weekend BO:
- "Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Roderick Rules"
- "Sucker Punch"
Notes: Sure, those two are the wide releases but make no mistake about it, "Mia and Migoo" is out and so is "White Irish Drinkers." Should I take offense at that last one. No, life's too short to be angry about everything. Plus, a few weeks ago it was "Kill the Irishman." And, no fooling, "The King's Speech PG13" will be released April 1. That was just too easy not to write. Sorry.
- TCM has issued a press release detailing the special 150th Anniversary Civil War movies for April. Each Monday and Wednesday throughout the month will be a different theme. "Gone With The Wind" will kick things off at 7 p.m. (CST) on April 4, the same night as the NCAA men's basketball title game. Other films include "Glory" and "Gettysburg." Plus, "Birth of a Nation" by D.W. Griffith.
- I love Elizabeth Taylor even more now that she requested she be late for her funeral. Plus, it started late, at her request. Classic.
- If "My Way" could be rewritten for a woman, it would be Elizabeth Taylor. She actually won three Oscars; 2 for acting and one humanitarian award.
- Who are the volunteers and who are the ones who get paid? I want that made very clear the next time I show up to help.
- Anchorless news is on the way, for some.
- When I heard that a certain actress may play Lady Gaga, I wondered why Lady Gaga couldn't play Lady Gaga.
- I do not care for celebrity weddings and I really do not care for the upcoming royal wedding.
- Why did it takes this long before Jared Loughner was handed over for that mental exam?
- I have a report here that says Marines are heading to Libya. No ground troops, right?
-"Titanic" won 11 Oscars and so did "Ben Hur" and "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King." However, "Lord" won 11 out of 11 nominations.
- Iowa prepped for an attack of white supremacists. And flooding, of course.
- Finally, other outlets have picked up on the Illinois Internet tax crap.
