Time to dump. It's a weekend.
- So, here's how I see it. When you cannot lead you wait and see how things play out. Then you make a speech that is so prepared it sounds fake. Sound familar? It happened this week. Nero really didn't fiddle while Rome burned for one simple reason. The fiddle was not yet invented, but you get the point.
Weekend BO:
- Wide releases include "Limitless" and "The Lincoln Lawyer." However, the one I look for is "Paul" to make a splash. We need movies like this and when they hit, they are good. Of course, when they do not, they suck. What I will be tracking this weekend is the legs for "Battle: Los Angeles." Can it repeat?
- I have yet to figure it out but I was offended when I saw this headline: O'Bama to go to Ireland. Come on.
- Thursday: When asked about the crisis in Japan, our president refused to answer because he noted he would be making a statement later in the day. Red flag to me. He had no idea what to say because nothing was prepared for him. Sad to see.
- I'm thinking of getting on the tranplant list now even though I do not need it.
- I just had a morning briefing and now I have no pants.
- I'm still stunned that PSAs are out telling kids to move at least one hour a day. We have to tell kids to move. Times have changed.
- I just had a fallout and it had nothing to do with radiation.
- The tally in the House was 228-192 for defunding NPR. I'm pretty sure it will be dead in the Senate.
- It's not that we do not need to balance the views by having NPR vs FOX vs CBS vs CNN, etc. It's the funding. Why does NPR need the funding?
The list of top moneymakers on TV via Forbes/Hollywood Reporter:
1. "American Idol" - $7.11 million per show.
2. "Two and a Half Men" - $2.89 million.
3. "Desparate Housewives" - $2.77 million.
4. "Grey's Anatomy" - $2.67 million.
5. "Dancing with the Stars" - $2.67 million.
- It's all "Harry Potter" this weekend on ABC Family.
- I wasn't kidding when I said follow the money with Charlie Sheen. TMZ is reporting that he will earn $7 million on his tour. Hmmm.
- I have a press release that says NBC has renewed three HIT comedy shows, "Community, "Parks and Recreation" and "The Office." What is there definition of a hit? Not one of those shows is in double digits in the ratings.
- Can we call it "Dancing with The D-List" this time around?
- McDonalds has oatmeal. Where is the outcry?
- Unpaid writers strike Huffington Post. I gave up writing for free a long time ago.
- Going to Rio. Why?
