Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge Review

Kassidy Emmerson
I love chocolate. Occasionally I get a craving for a chocolate brownie. At those times, I grab a box mix out of the cupboard and whip up a batch. I got a coupon recently for 75 cents off two boxes of Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies. They come in two flavors- Chocolate Fudge and Chocolate Chip. They come frozen and ready to bake. Even though the Duncan Hines brand name is known for quality, I was skeptical. Read this Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge review and find out if they live up to their name!

Product Description
I found Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge at a SuperValu grocery on sale for $2.99 a box. I believe the regular price is $3.49. This is the first brownie batter you buy frozen, then bake it in your oven. There's no preparation or anything to clean up, and that idea appealed to me. Brownies in just 30 minutes, but are they good?

Baking Directions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the tray of frozen Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge batter from the box. Remove the plastic film and place the tray on a cookie sheet on the middle oven rack. Bake it 25 to 27 minutes or until a toothpick stuck an inch from the edge comes out clean. Then, remove brownies from oven and allow them to cool 1 - 2 minutes. Cool in tray before cutting and serving.

Taste Test
I was expecting company, and at the last minute, we decided to have dinner. I grabbed a bucket meal at KFC and bought a box of Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge at the store. I popped the brownies in the oven, and we sat down to eat. By the time we were ready for dessert, the brownies were done.

Everyone -myself included- thought the Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge were delicious. They were moist and very chocolate-y.

Conclusion
Based on taste and convenience alone, I highly recommend Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge. There's no better way to get fresh-baked brownies in a hurry.

However, if you're counting pennies, using my regular price of $3.49 for a box of 12 brownies, that equals about 29 cents each. That's cheaper than buying them at the bakery. Boxed brownie mixes cost considerably less to buy. Add in the extra costs: additional ingredients, energy used operating the oven, washing the dishes, et cetera, and it's still probably cheaper to make/bake a boxed mix.

I'll buy Duncan Hines Oven Ready! Homestyle Brownies - Chocolate Fudge occasionally, especially if I'm in a hurry. But, I'll still make brownies from scratch and from boxed mixes.

Good review. I love brownies and I also love convenience, so I may just have to pick these up. Knowing me, I'll buy them when they're on sale and I have a coupon. :)

I have a coupon for these and thought about going against my "no trans fat" rule to give them a try. They are just so darn easy and sound yummy too! Thanks for the review.

Sound wonderful although I don't eat chocolate often because I'm allergic to it, I might get these just for company. Thanks for a great review
