Dunkin' Donuts Coffee Now Available in Select Retail Stores

The Coffee Will Be Available in Retail Outlets Nationwide in September

Proctor & Gamble announced in a press release Tuesday that they have partnered with Dunkin' Donuts to bring packaged Dunkin' Donuts coffee to several retail outlets beginning this month. The coffee will be available in retail markets nationwide in September.

Cincinnati-based Proctor & Gamble is the world's largest consumer products company, with over 135,000 employees working in more than 80 countries. It already has Folgers Gourmet Selections and Millstone among its well-known coffees, as well as numerous other familiar and popular products: Pampers diapers, Tide detergent, Pantene shampoo, Bounty paper towels and Duracell batteries.

Dunkin' Donuts, based in Canton, Mass., was established in 1950 and is said on the company website to be the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world, with more than 7,000 stores worldwide - this includes about 5,300 stores in 34 states. Overseas, Dunkin' Donuts stores are located primarily in the Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea and Thailand.

As the leading quick-service retailer in coffee-by-the-cup, the company boasts sales of 2.7 million cups of hot regular coffee a day, along with iced coffee, 52 varieties of donuts and an array of bagels, breakfast sandwiches and other baked goods.

With this new deal with Proctor & Gamble, consumers will be able to enjoy Dunkin' Donuts coffee at home or the office, in virtually every city in the nation, regardless of whether there is a Dunkin' Donuts store in their city.

Robert Rodriquez is Dunkin' Donuts Brand president. He said the company is "thrilled to be working with Procter & Gamble to introduce new consumers across the country to our great-tasting coffee and we are pleased with the initial response from retailers. Dunkin' Donuts packaged coffee at retail will also make it even more convenient for our loyal consumer base to enjoy our coffee at home or on the go."

The Dunkin' Donuts coffee will come in a variety of flavors and roasts, as well as in a couple of package sizes. Original Blend will be available in both whole bean and ground varieties. The flavors will include Original Blend, French Vanilla, Dunkin' Decaf, Hazelnut and Cinnamon Spice. Consumers will be able to buy Dunkin' Donuts coffee in a 12 oz. package for a suggested retail price of $7.99 or a 40 oz. package for a suggested retail price of $15.99.

Jamie Egasti is the president of Proctor & Gamble Coffee & Snacks. She said: "With P&G's reach and Dunkin's popularity, this is great news for coffee lovers." P&G Coffee is the number one coffee roaster in the U.S. and will be responsible for manufacturing, distributing and marketing Dunkin' Donuts packaged coffee to retail stores in the U.S.

This joint venture was first disclosed in February, but the details did not emerge until August, just prior to the coffee's availability in select retail outlets.
