As soon as I saw the sale price coupons for Dunkin' Donuts' new tuna salad sandwich that arrived in the mail last week, I knew I had to try the item. Well, two days ago, I purchased and ate one of these sandwiches and I think it would be a good item to review.
Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is an article which reviews and examines the new Dunkin' Donuts Tuna Salad Sandwich.
Size
When I tried to find accurate information regarding the net weight of the Dunkin' Donuts Tuna Salad Sandwich, it was unavailable. When I ate one of these sandwiches a couple of days ago, it seemed to be fairly substantial in size. The bagel in this sandwich appears to be a standard sized bagel and it is stuffed with a decent amount of tuna salad. When I first saw the sandwich, I wondered if it would fill me up at all, but as it turns out, it was just big enough to satisfy my appetite when I ate it along with a small bag of potato chips.
Price
The regular price charged for one Tuna Salad Sandwich at Hartford, Connecticut area Dunkin' Donuts shops is approximately $3.71. At first, I thought that this price seemed a little high, but after eating the sandwich, I think it is pretty reasonable.
Texture / Consistency
This tuna salad sandwich offers several pleasing textures. The bagel is nice and fresh, with a slightly firm exterior and an appealingly soft and spongy interior. The tuna salad is basically smooth, with a good amount of mayonnaise and crunchy celery present and it goes well with the bagel. Nice and chewy, the Dunkin' Donuts Tuna Salad Sandwich offers a pleasing overall mouth feel.
Nutritional Facts
The Dunkin' Donuts Tuna Salad Sandwich contains 540 calories, with 180 calories from fat, per one sandwich serving. This sandwich also contains 3 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 20 grams total fat, 30 mg of cholesterol, 1,070 mg of sodium, 69 grams total carbohydrates, 5 grams of dietary fiber, 6 grams of sugars and 18 grams of protein, per one sandwich serving.
Taste / Flavor
This tuna salad sandwich tastes better than I expected it to. Before I tasted it, I thought that this sandwich would be similar in flavor to a tuna salad sandwich found in a convenience store refrigerator case. Such is not the case. The sandwich appeared to be freshly made and it was neither too dry or too soggy.
The combination of bagel and tuna salad works well together and is a nice change from bread, rolls or wraps. A nice amount of mayonnaise, not too much and not too little is contained in the tuna salad and the pieces of celery that populate it add a nice sense of garden freshness to the item. As I ate the Dunkin' Donuts Tuna Salad Sandwich, I could faintly taste lemon, onion and garlic influences. Also, the tuna salad is slightly - sweet and offers a very faint 'kick' or sense of spice. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.
Packaging
When I purchased a Dunkin' Donuts Tuna Salad Sandwich two days ago, I ordered it 'to go' and it was wrapped in a large piece of deli style paper, than placed in a paper bag, along with a napkin.
Overall Rating
All things considered, the new Dunkin' Donuts Tuna Salad Sandwich is a positive addition to the sandwich menu at Dunkin' Donuts. A plain old tuna salad sandwich is a hard thing to find in today's fast food world. Because Dunkin' Donuts is a reliable chain with locations everywhere, it is good to know that you can now get a tasty, reasonably - priced tuna salad sandwich quickly in almost any large US city.
