DuWop Lip Venom Promises to Plump Your Lips

I decided to try DuWop Lip Venom on impulse. I've never really seriously considered lip plumping products before, they're a little spendy and I just wasn't sure I wanted to spend on the cash on something that may or may not work. But one day I was at Sephora, a real treat for me as we don't have one in our city, and I overheard another woman gushing about this product to her friend. I decided right then that I would go ahead and try it. What the heck, you only live once. For those of you haven't heard of this product or of similiar products, here's the product description from DuWop:

Lip Venom is a spicy, tingly gloss that enhances the natural color and shape of the lips by increasing circulation with a blend of essential oils including cinnamon and ginger. The result: shiny, bee-stung lips.

This product is a little on a the spendy side, costing me $15 for a small tube containing 3.5mL. Although, to be fair with this product a little goes a long way. The Lip Venom is easy to apply. Just remove the wand from the vial and brush onto your lips. The first thing you will notice is a strong cinnamon scent. This scent did not bother me as I love cinnamon but I can see how it might bother those who don't care for cinnamon. It is very strong. However, the Lip Venom itself does not taste stronly of cinnamon, it does have a slight cinnamon taste but it's hardly noticeable. Both the smell and the taste disappears about 15 minutes after application.

DuWop Lip Venom goes on fairly thickly and is a little bit sticky, but it's not too bad at all. The gloss is clear, shiny and looks beautiful! It lasts for about 3 hours.

So now for the $64,000 question - does DuWop Lip Venom really make ones lips plumper? The answer is yes.... sort of. I did notice that my lips would plumper after using this product, but not too dramatically. It was really just a slight plumping of my lip and it was temporary. I believe the plumping effect lasted about 2 and a half hours. The product does begin to burn with about 30 seconds of applying. I expected some tingling based on the product description but I did not expect to burn as much as it did. The burning sensation does gradually dimish and I've found that it doesn't really bother me anymore. The more I've used the product, the less the burning sensation bother me. I hardly notice it now.

A bit of warning about this product. It not only burns your lips but everything it touches. If you get it on your tongue, it will burn and if you kiss someone while wearing this product it will burn that person's lips as well. My husband learned this hard way. It does also dry out your lips a bit. I don't really have a problem with dry lips normally and I've been finding that I need to apply lip balm at night now. So if you have dry or sensitive lips you may want to steer clear.

Overall, I really enjoy this product. I find that it does plump the lips a little bit and the gloss itself is really pretty and shiny. I do actually feel more attractive when I wear this gloss and that makes it worth the price to me. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to try something different and who are interested in a quality long lasting gloss.
