Earl comes up with an ingenious idea for hunting the graboids. He uses an explosive that he attaches to a remote controlled car [truck or tank]. He then uses the remote control to have the small vehicle race at some distance from him and Grady, then the graboid [who hunts by sound] chases the bomb, eats it, and Earl triggers the bomb and kills the graboid.
As they hunt the graboids and kill several, they find out from their graboid finder that there are at least twenty or more out there that need killing so Earl calls up his old buddy Burt Gummer from Perfection so he can come and help them with the graboid killing.
Now there are three men out there killing graboids when something strange happens. A graboid runs away from Earl and Grady. In and of itself, that is very strange behavior since graboids always run TO sound and not AWAY from it. They chase it and find it just laying there on the surface. Earl and Grady decide to take the live graboid back with them on the back of a tow truck so they sit and wait while keeping a loose eye on "their" graboid. The graboid makes loud hideous bellowing sounds and then it's dead. Earl and Grady come out from behind the rocks to look at the dead graboid and find that it has a huge hole in it where "something" has eaten its way OUT of the graboid. Earl is freaked out because he just knows its something bad. It turns out that Earl was right. The "something" that came out of the graboid was a smallish
Everyone is eaten by the new shriekers except for Earl, Grady, Burt and Earl's new love interest, Kate. But good triumphs over shriekers as they come up with a plan where Earl coats himself with the foam from a fire extinguisher to erase his body heat signature so that he can walk in among about fifty shriekers. Once inside, Earl grabs a detonator, tosses it into Burt's truck where there are several bombs so that they can destroy all the shriekers at one time.
The plan works, everyone is happy and rich and this movie is over and you are ready to go on the next movie, Tremors 3!
