Week three of "Dancing with the stars" was a bit of a shocker on results night. According to fan votes Kristin Cavallari with partner Mark Ballas and Hope Solo and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were in the bottom two. Although they were not in the bottom of the judges leader board, it didn't matter as this is a fan driven competition.
Sometimes being a good dancer is just not enough. Fans may or may not connect with the celebrity, or they may see someone else who is trying harder, who wants to win more, or someone who just needs it more. I think week 3 is a great example of this.
Kristin Cavallari and Mark got sent home by fans! The judges thought she would make it to the finals, but it just wasn't meant to be. As Kristin said "it is what it is." She was making great progress and was going through the moves, but I think fans saw she was lacking passion for the dance. And that matters. Plus she was having to compete for the popular vote with the likes of David Arquette, Ricki Lake, and Chaz Bono. That has to be difficult. Cavallari is only know for being mouthy on "The Hills," so she almost didn't stand a chance. She is still building her "fan base" most certainly and she gave all she could.
Next week "Dancing with the Stars" enters week 4! Exciting to see what happens next!
