The problem with the DXG 506V camera is that it doesn't come with a power cord so you can plug it into the wall. This is very inconvenient as it should at least come with a power cord, so you can use it without having to waste battery power. It takes pretty good still pictures and at 5.1 mega pixels it should, but the video is not that great either and is rather grainy. The camera is also difficult to work, and has a lot of buttons and takes a while to learn and get used to.The DXG 506V is disappointing for the $99 dollar price, and I personally expected a lot more.
I guess you can use rechargeable batteries, but the fact that there isn't even a power cord is what really got me, that and the fact that the video picture isn't that good. You can also record Mp3s with this camera and the built in Mic is horrible sound quality. The headphones that come with the camera already broke on me, and were very very short, so you couldn't even use them with a portable music player if you wanted to. The left ear was shorter then the right ear for some reason.
The DXG 506V does have a few positives. I guess the amount of features on the camera is alright, because you have a lot of control over what the picture is going to look like. The zoom is also pretty decent. There are some things to like about this camera, but overall it is not worth the $99 dollar price tag. I would say that if I were going to pay for this camera and it wasn't a present, then I would pay $50 and no more. Every camera should have an option to plug into a wall and it is pretty inexcusable that this camera did not come with a power adapter and I have to waste money on triple A batteries every time I want to use my camera. Buying a charger and rechargeable batteries cost money, additional money that I shouldn't have to spend. Why not just come with a rechargeable battery already in it like most cameras?
