Story : Not much of a story here, though one isn't really acquired. You pick a character and conquer all in your way until you're the last man standing. Like I said, not much of a story but people don't really play these games for the story and neither should you.
Graphics : The graphics are near perfection. Like many next gen games, they pulled out all the stops for Dynasty Warriors 6 as far as graphics go. Zooming in close to check out the detail that went into the drawing, animation, and backgrounds is very rewarding. The detail in every texture is really quite good and there's a ton of variety here eve in the graphics. A great game, graphically.
Sound : The sound in this game is also excellent. The music is arranged and composed well. It's ambient when it needs to be but also in the foreground when it calls for it. The sound effects all fit very well and are satisfying. The music is very modern, a big change of pace compared to previous games. Very cool.
Game play : The game play is really smooth and the controls are very responsive. The fact that there's no slowdown despite hundreds and hundreds of objects on the screen is amazing. The game really has barely any learning curve and gives you instant results. Being able to take out hordes of enemies with a single stroke is very satisfying and redeeming. The character selection was reduced for some odd reason. Also, there really aren't that many differences between the characters. This significantly reduces replay value. There are many cloned characters here. Just imagine a video game with Ryu, Ken, Akuma, and Dan and you'll get what I mean. The special abilities in this game are a real treat, both visually and game play wise. The variety within the battles is heightened over previous games, which is good since the character selection is so limited. All the battles themselves are exceedingly well done, and there are many different tactical strategies and objectives involved. The dueling system can be quite fun but also difficult, so more often than not you'll probably try to avoid them.
Re playability : If you really love Dynasty Warrior games, there's a ton of unlock ables here. If you're a completist, there's a ton to keep you entertained. Skills, horses, nearly everything can be elongated should you choose it to be. The replay value of this game really depends on your initial play through. You could just as easily be satisfied the first time and not feel like you need to unlock anything.
Overall : 7/10. Really solid game with too small a character selection and cloned characters.
