"Each Day"

Audrey Star Josefek
This short poem is something I wrote a couple of weeks ago while I was looking out of our window over the snow-covered hills, and reminded me of how smoothly Nature moves through the seasons, making the most of each day. Enjoy!

Each Day~

As I gaze out of my window

Surrounded by my walls

I see

A flock of geese

Far away, soaring above a hill.

I see a mother deer

With her spotted young one

Keeping her head up

Her senses alert

Watching for any unforeseen danger.

Some sparrows, 2 bluejays, a bright red cardinal

Along with a sneaky squirrel

Happily filling up

On fallen bird seed

From a lantern-shaped feeder.

All Nature's goings on

Crowned by a covering of glistening snow

Marking Winter

Still is here

But the animals take no notice

Making the most of each day.
