David Michael Poduska, Jr., was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on July 15. Apparently, only five percent of the boys involved in Scouts reach this distinguished goal. An event called an Eagle Court of Honor will take place on Sept. 17 at the First Congregational Church of Royal Oak, with a dessert reception at the Royal Oak Historical Society Museum.

Poduska, Jr., played a major role in the recent renovation of Historical Society Museum, located at the Webster Firehouse Number 2. With the help of some friends and family, he undertook the renovation of a room in the firehouse which will serve as a research library. The project included obtaining funding from local businesses and re-finishing all of the walls in the room, over 500 hours of work.
