Ear Ache Relief

iola reneau
I have had experience with several different causes of ear aches in myself and my children. The remedies I am sharing here have brought relief to swimmers ear, wax build up and even my ears when I was experiencing sporadic sharp pain and ringing which is referred to as tinnitus.

Olive Oil

Olive Oil is great for removing wax build up and relieving tinnitus.
I have used it for both conditions and it works every time. Here is what I do, fill a dropper with olive oil, lean head to the side and squeeze out several drops into ear, use a cotton ball to cover the ear, hold for several minutes. Keep the cotton ball in place and do the other side exactly the same way. Now you wait just a few minutes and then take a hot shower, while in the shower, allow the water to run into the ear, then switch sides and allow the water to run into the ear, then tilt head to the other side and allow the ears to drain.
I did this and I had been experiencing pain and ringing in my left ear for a very long time. The very next day I noticed it was gone. You do not have to suffer with tinnitus, this will help.
Instead of buying expensive products to release and get rid of ear wax in my children's ears I use this method and it is safer and easier then using Q-tips.

Holistic Drops/Rubbing Alcohol

Swimmers ear is very painful and can be avoided by using a few drops of rubbing alcohol after swimming. You can also purchase at most grocery stores holistic ear drops called Similasen, Tylenol for children. I did this for my son while on vacation a few years ago and this brought him fast relief. Give the Tylenol for quick relief of the pain and then proceed with the drops.

Also to help dry out the ear you can use a blow dryer, just make sure you do not allow the air to become to hot and then causing a burn.
