Early 2010 video game: Red Steel 2
The popular Wii exclusive gets a sequel on February 16th. Set in the Wild West, this title is completely revamped. The graphics have more of a comic book feel. The First Person Shooter (FPS) lets players use different combos and switch between swords and firearms. You battle ninjas and a group of assassins called The Jackals. The Wii Motion Plus accessory should give players finer control over the game. It will retail for $49.99. The rating is pending, but it will probably be Teen or Mature.
Early 2010 video game: Dementium II
Also being released on February 16th is this DS exclusive. A sequel to the 2007 FPS, the game is a mature survival horror title. Waking up after brain surgery, you are returned to a jail cell where you're transported in an alternative universe filled with demons. Your mission is to figure out what's going on and escape. New features in the game include the ability to dual wield weapons while holding the flashlight and an on screen map. It will retail for $29.99.
Early 2010 video game: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction
Set for release on February 23rd is the fifth installment in the Splinter Cell series. It takes place two years after Double Agent. Sam Fisher has gone rogue after learning his daughter's death wasn't an accident. During the game, he discovers a threat to Washington D.C. New features in the game include marking and prioritizing specific targets like objects or enemies. Players will be able to interrogate characters in real time and use objects in the environment as weapons. There is also a new co-op campaign and a new multiplayer mode called Deniable Ops. The game will be available for the PC and Xbox 360. It will retail for $59.99 and will probably be rated M.
Early 2010 video game: Army of Two the 40th Day
On January 12th, this sequel will be released. In the third person shooter, teamwork is a must. Players need to survive Shanghai, China while it's under attack. Mercenaries have also taken civilians hostage. It's up to Salem and Rios to stop the destruction of the city. The game features more co-op moves that can be used at any time making for a smoother experience. There are also many multiplayer modes including a new one called Control. It will available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP. It is rated M and will retail for around $59.99.
