Breast Changes
It is very common to experience breast changes early in pregnancy. Though some women have claimed to notice breast changes when they were one week pregnant, breast changes are known to occur during the second week. Your breasts may feel sore to touch and will soon begin to look swollen. Many women compare this early sign of pregnancy to the breast tenderness that occurs prior to menstruation or when beginning a new birth control pill. Keep in mind that both PMS and a reaction to estrogen in the pill can both be alternative causes of this pregnancy symptom.
There is no doubt that morning sickness is one of the most well known pregnancy symptoms. For some women, it can also be one of the earliest signs. Some women are known to experience it during the first week, though others may not experience it until later on. It is common to notice nausea, vomiting, and aversions to smells during the second week of pregnancy. Note that there are many other causes of vomiting and nausea, including stomach conditions, illness, and even reactions to new medications.
Implantation Bleeding
Implantation bleeding, or spotting, occurs six to 12 days after conception, according to the American Pregnancy Association. If you have noticed irregular vaginal bleeding, there is a chance that it may be an early sign of pregnancy. Women who have irregular menstrual cycles may not recognize this as a pregnancy symptom, however. There is also the chance that it could really be a menstrual period rather than implantation bleeding as well.
Note that these symptoms are very similar to early pregnancy symptoms for week one and week three. Remember that the only way to confirm your pregnancy suspicions is to take a home pregnancy test that should be followed up with a doctor's test if you get a negative result and experience symptoms. Keep in mind that you will need to follow the home pregnancy test instructions for how soon you can take the test at home.
