Earn Extra Dollars: Recycle Empty Ink Cartridge

Josh Santucci
Today, I was cleaning my office and an army of empty ink cartridge surprised me! I found 10 empty hp ink cartridges in my drawer and thought of something that I could do about those empty ink cartridges. I don't want to throw them away and (somehow) destroy the environment, so I hit Google for some help, and I found several ways to recycle empty ink cartridges that I could benefit from and the environment.

There are couple of companies and dozen of websites that recycle empty cartridges. In return for your empty ink cartridges (which you paid for crazy amount of money before) can either give you a credit for it to spend in their store or receive nothing but will benefit others (non-profit organizations) by recycling them, and the money earned for it will help those who are in need.

Websites where you can recycle your empty ink cartridges:

Staples, Inc.
- Staples Ink Cartridges Recycling Program is one of the well known company to recycle empty ink cartridges. According to the Hewlett-Packard Development Company's website, "Staples is the first to pilot the HP retail recycling through HP Planet Partners Program." Staple does not only accept HP Ink Cartridges but also other Ink Cartridges: HP; Brother; Canon; Dell; Epson; Kodak; and Lexmark.

For every empty ink cartridge you bring to any Staples store, you will going to receive a $3 store-credit. A limit of 10 empty ink cartridges per month is allowed only.

They also accepts most of the ink cartridge brands, for the pricing list of all ink cartridges they accept please visit their website at http://www.empties4cash.com/cartridge-price-list.html

Other website where you can recycle your empty ink cartridges for extra money or donate the proceeds of your empty ink cartridges to non-profit organizations:

ecyclegroup.com
recycle4charity.org
freerecycling.com

There are other websites with different types of promos and programs where you can recycle your empty ink cartridges (Google them).

Now that you know you can actually get benefits from your empty ink cartridges, you can give comments at the bottom of this page if you have any comments, suggestions, information or food-for-thoughts.
