Earn a Few Extra Dollars with Legitimate Survey Companies

Katri Marson
There are hundreds, possibly thousands, of survey companies on the Internet. Many of them claim you can make lots of money fast and easily. In the real world of consumer panel surveys that is not how it works. These are some of the companies that I have been with for awhile, done surveys with and have also received payments from.

MySurvey

http://www.mysurvey.com

MySurvey is part of a consumer opinion research company that has been around since 1946.

I have been doing surveys for this company, since 1946, kidding, since, not too long after they started their website. It has been so long that I do not remember how I originally came across them.

They notify you by email of survey opportunities. You can also log in to the site, to see them. They also have a small program that you can install that will notify you immediately when a survey for you becomes available, so you don't have to be at the site or checking your email to find out. MySurvey works on a point system. For every survey you complete you receive points, whether you qualify or not for the full survey. But, you receive more points if you qualify for the full survey and complete it. With the points you earn you can turn them into cash and they will mail you a check; you can redeem them for products from a list of items they have or you can donate your points to charity.

Synovate

Synovate also uses the point system. When I first joined them they didn't give any points, just contest entries and a thank you gift at the end of the year. Anyway, they do give points now and I never miss surveys, since they give a better incentive now. They also notify you by email, as well as being able to check the site. Just like MySurvey, Synovate gives you points for the surveys you do and more points for the surveys you qualify for and complete. Synovate points can be redeemed for cash, they mail you a check when you choose to redeem your points.

American Consumer Opinion Panel

http://www.acop.com

American Consumer Opinion Panel is an international marketing research firm. They only email you when there is a survey that meets your group; you cannot check their site for available surveys. They do not use points, but they pay per survey completed. They send out short screening surveys, that you do not get paid for. The screening surveys screen to see if you qualify for the paid surveys they have, but they are fairly short. The pay is from $4.00 - $50.00, depending on the survey. I have yet to get a large paying survey, but I have done the $4.00 surveys. They pay in the form of a check, by mail, that is sent after you complete the survey.

Pinecone Research

This one is kind of hard, since you cannot just go and sign up for it. You have to find them or be referred when they need someone in your age category. I found this one on a banner ad a long time ago, on a site I visit often. I am suspicious of things, so I didn't want to click on the banner ad and sign up. Instead, I found their actual website, to sign up, but when I went there I found out that you cannot sign up through them. You can only sign up from random banner ads that are placed on certain sites or through a member when they need a certain group. I rushed back to the site in hopes I would find the ad again. I did and I am very happy I signed up. They do not use a point system; they pay you $3 for each survey you complete. They either automatically mail you a check after you complete a survey or they automatically transfer money to your paypal account, whichever you choose. If you are lucky enough to find this company, I recommend signing up.

Even though you can't get rich quick doing surveys, it can be fun having your say about products companies want to put out. You can make you opinion heard and earn some extra money while you do.

I wonder how much one can make in a reasonable month using these surveys. I would like to be able to work from home but do reasonably well.

Pine cone is great. I'm very happy with their surveys even if they do a while to complete.
