Earn Money Selling Cosmetics

Women around the world dream of being able to earn a living from the comfort of their own home. Thanks to major cosmetics companies, this dream is actually possible.

Not everyone is cut out for selling cosmetics. It isn't the ideal job for a shy person since you will need to get out and network as well as sell. Although some women earn a decent amount by selling to friends and co-workers, it certainly doesn't rival that of the vendors who are out knocking on doors and constantly searching for new markets.

The ideal home cosmetics dealer is also charismatic, fun and interesting. She can capture her client's imaginations and doesn't hesitate to move in for a sale. If you have these characteristics and you love educating people, selling cosmetics might be the right at home job for you.

There are a couple of different ways to sell cosmetics from your home. Some companies like Avon, offer catalogs that the vendor can distribute and show to other women. The clients let their vendor know which products they want before the order date specified on the back of the catalog and the vendor then calls in all orders at once.

Catalog cosmetic sales have the advantage of selling when you aren't there. You can leave a catalog with your name and number at someone's house or in a doctor's office and wait for the order, or call up a day or two before the send-in date to see if anyone wants anything. This is ideal for women who have a full-time job and don't have time to plan events or sit and explain products to their clients.

The other type of cosmetic sales is through parties. Mary Kay is a good example of a party cosmetic company. You need to invest a few dollars in products to begin with, as demos. Then you invite as many women as possible to attend a cosmetics party where they can try the different products and place orders. There are usually special incentives to order on the spot, like a free makeup bag or a two for one deal.

Parties can also be hosted by other women who arrange everything and invite the vendor to sell. The hostess receives special gifts and incentives, depending on how high the sales are at her party. This is ideal for a people person who enjoys getting up in front of people and demonstrating her products. Also, the sales tend to be higher for this type of vending because it is easy to create a buying frenzy with several women in the same room trying to buy the same products, some of which are in stock, others not.

Selling cosmetics can be profitable if you want it to be, but it cannot be said that this is easy money, whether distributing catalogs, or organizing a party. There is plenty of money to be made, if you do the work necessary. So why not look into earning with cosmetics today?
