Earth

Today is like no other
We are celebrating the earth.
It is lovely, it is wonder
It is life and hope eternal.
Mother nature smiles upon earth
She gives it sun to make new life.
Everywhere we see the beginning,
The cause for awareness is at hand.
If we neglect the earth even with all it's glory and power,
It too will fade away, ceasing to exist.
Taking care of the earth,
Is our duty, our pleasure.
Making new trees, new plants, co-existing with the animals.
Taking care not to litter,
Not to cut down all the trees.
To recycle is dandy, and makes things re-usable too.
Earth, what is it about it?
What can we learn from it?
Maybe that everything can be made new again,
Maybe everything can be useful.
Like Mothers who give life to their young,
The earth gives life to us.
It does not make us, we cannot make it.
We can only help it to flourish, to
Renew.
Earth, give it a thought,
Give it our attention,
Before it is gone.
