Celebrate Earth Day in Junction City is scheduled to take place on Saturday April 18th from 8:00 A.M. until Noon, CST with a City Wide Clean Up. Sponsored by the Junction City Police Department this local Earth Day Event promises to be a fun and rewarding experience. Participants will report to the Spin City parking lot on April 18th to be assigned an area to "clean-up". By 8:30 A.M. participants will drive to their assigned areas and get busy cleaning up our beautiful town. Trash and debris will be picked up in local parks as well as many other areas within the city by volunteers. All participants are then invited to return to Spin City at 11:30 AM for lunch provided by the City of Junction City.

What better way for a family, Scout Pack or Troop, Church Group or individual to celebrate Earth Day than by helping to clean up their own town?

The 2009 City Wide Clean Up would be a great way for a Cub Scout Pack or Boy Scout Troop or Venture Crew to participate in a local Earth Day Event. This event would be a wonderful tool in teaching the Principals of the Leave No Trace Award to your Boy Scout Troop members.

Many groups in Scouting and Religious Organizations as well as the local school system, USD475, require youth and adults to perform Community Service Projects within their community. The Junction City City Wide Clean Up Celebrating Earth Day is an excellent resource for those still needing to perform community service hours for High School graduation or to fulfill religious community service.

Does your town have an Earth Day 2009 celebration planned? If not, it's not yet too late to organize a program geared to celebrate Earth Day and help clean up the parks and other areas within your city. Put your leadership skills to work. Don't wait, do it now, join other volunteers in making this years Earth Day a wonderful and worthwhile celebration. Together we can clean up our planet.
