Earth Day 2009, Going Green Around the World

EarthDay 2009
Around the World, Going Green

Everyone is going green, what does it mean?
Earth Day will soon be here, new life will paint
this planet in fresh shades of springtime green.

Let us offer up help to our giant globe,
we can plant tomatoes, green peppers,
lettuce, cabbage and many more veggies.

Egg cartons are great to start seeds to grow,
in a little potting soil; I've seen it done, I know.
Save a bundle on dozens, a variety of small plants.

Earth Day will dawn on April 22, 2009,
it will mark the start of the Green Generation
Campaign, when we must defend the core credo
of that campaign and keep it rolling along.

A carbon-free future of renewable energy,
ending our dependency on fossil fuels and coal.
Each individual's commitment to responsible,
sustainable, unchangeable, containable consumption.

Creation of a new green economy that lifts
people out of poverty by creating millions
of quality jobs that are green, and change global
education into a new green stable system.

There will be many events to show us how we begin
to go green. Check out your community, village
or town as to what they will be doing for the green.

Where better to start the Green Generation than
on campuses across the globe. Thousands of other
events are being planned all around the world.

Go get yourself a green tee shirt with 'Earth Day'
printed across the front in bold letters.
Or simply say, 'I'm going green today.'

You can go green if you recycle stuff
that once you tossed, such as bottles, cans,
clothes and even your sheets and frying pans. .

Get past hoarding of things you no longer use,
you will have a cleaner, greener house and lot.
Check your attic and garage, where you may find
you don't need a lot of what you've got.
