Earth Day 2009 Poems

Give the Earth Her Due

Earth Day 2009 encourages environmental awareness

Recycle, think green and act in fairness

Children inherit the land, the skies and the sea

Give the gift of a future, plant a tree

Nature abhors a vacuum

But fill it with promise rather than doom

Celebrate the Earth, the Stars, the Sun and Moon

With choices, actions, words and do it soon

Ask not what the Earth does for you

But how to give the Earth Her due.

White City, So Pretty

In the shadow of the white city

Building reflecting like diamonds so pretty
The planet upon which we live and love

Looking down from far above

With eyes of blue, green, brown or black

Adoring oceans, prairie, mountains and outback

Saving the Earth is a job for every committee

So devote time to acts of random kindness and not pity.
