In some places, the events and celebrations are only for Earth Day. But, here in Baltimore, events will start on April 17th and run through the 24th, thanks to organizations such as Baltimore Green Works.

Baltimore Green Works Events:
April 17, 2010 ECOFEST - Noon-6 p.m. at Druid Hill Park
Baltimore Green Week's kick off event, EcoFest, invites local food vendors, growers,
businesses and organizations that maintain a sustainable focus. There will be plenty of activities happening so use this opportunity to try something new like yoga, take a bike ride around the reservoir, dance or sing along to June Star and the Frontier Dentists or take a moment to enjoy a back massage. There will also be tours of the new Highlandtown Healthy Living Center from 1-4 p.m.

2. Earth Day Celebration at the National Aquarium in Baltimore

Activities: Earth Day is April 22. To celebrate, join the Aquarium in exploring ways to enjoy, protect, and respect our blue planet, starting with your own backyard. Special games and activities will take place throughout the day. Plus, learn how you can get involved with the Aquariums Conservation Team.
