Earth Day Events in Los Angeles - Aquarium of the Pacific Earth Day Celebration
Celebrating the 10th annual Earth Day Celebration, the Aquarium of the Pacific will host a number of eco-friendly booths providing information on preserving the Earth's resources. Bring in an "e-waste" item and you'll receive $10 off admission. Items include: computers, printers, scanners, copy machines, televisions, batteries, and many others. For a complete list, go here. In addition to the great rates, the Long Beach Water Department will have 35 outdoor booths including activities for the kids, a live band and a multitude of ways to conserve our resources.

Earth Day Events in Los Angeles - Disneynature's Oceans at The El Capitan Theatre
For the second year in row, Disney is celebrating Earth Day with the release of another phenomenal nature movie. This year's movie is titled, Oceans. Directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, the movie takes a look at the mysteries of the ocean. The film is narrated by Pierce Brosnan and features amazing never-before-seen footage providing the viewer with an indescribable look at one of the Earth's most precious resources. The El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood will be debuting the movie. Experience this amazing Los Angeles theater while viewing the visually stunning movie, Oceans.

Earth Day Events in Los Angeles - AVATAR screening with director James Cameron at the Nokia Theatre
Spend Earth day with James Cameron, director of the movie AVATAR, and a screening of the movie promoting the film's eco-message at the Nokia Theatre located in the heart of Los Angeles. Cameron will also be conducting a question and answer section. The Nokia Theatre event will also feature AVATAR actress Michelle Rodriguez DJ'ing during the breaks; Giovanni Ribisi; Joel Moore; Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa; Suzy Amis Cameron; Rosario Dawson; John Salley; James Cromwell; Billy Zane; Daryl Hannah and many more. The event is in conjunction with the DVD release of the movie.
According to the Hollywood News, Fox has created "The AVATAR Program." Purchasers of the AVATAR Blu-ray and DVD will find a unique code inside the packaging. Consumers can then register at www.avatarmovie.com. Fans will also be able to adopt one of the one million trees being planted in celebration of Earth Day. Through Earth Day Network's Billion Acts of Green™ program, those adopting a tree will be able to count their action toward the goal of one Billion Acts of Green™ on Earth Day Network's Web site at www.earthday.org.
