Gather at the fourth largest creek in Seattle, Taylor Creek, to celebrate Earth Day. Participants will have the opportunity to plant trees, observe water quality projects and explore the park. Seattle Earth Day Events - WWU Earth Day 5K and Alumni Run
This fun Earth Day event kicks off at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2010. The 5K helps supports the environment, the surrounding community and the Western Washington University Track and Field program. The WWU Track and Field team help run the 5K by volunteering at different run day stations. Cost to participate is $10 or $20 on the day of the event. Students will receive a $5 discount with student ID. To register, click here.

The mission of the Seattle Children's PlayGarden is to provide opportunities for children with physical and mental disabilities. The PlayGarden allows these children a "safe indoor/outdoor recreation space and offering inclusive programs that encourage their potential." Seattle Earth Day Events - Leap for Green 2010
Celebrating its 3rd year, Leap for Green will take place April 24, 2010 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Community Center at Mercer View. Visitors will be able to take part in nature walks, be entertained by musical and theatrical performers, as well as many other Earth Day activities. For more information, please click here.
Seattle Earth Day Events - Duwamish Alive! Restore Our River
For a hands on worthwhile event, Duwamish Alive, promises to fill the bill. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a river cleanup by kayak, shoreline salmon restoration and tree planting. When you're done doing your part for the environment, head on over to the Earth Day Festival taking place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Pathfinder school.
