Earth Day - Celebration by Adoption

Indrani Kar
I am not yet a mother,
and I shall never be
Will never know how to hold a child
How really it feels to be

Often I sit down to think,
Ponder to take which lane
To feel complete, serve a purpose,
To lessen this unbearable pain.

I long to bear, I want to care
Bring up a child for the world to see
And when he's old, he'll serve the world
In the desert or flood, like a tree.

A tree I thought, with leaves to spare
A thought to dare, a thought so rare,
That, if I had a tree to care
The kind of mother i shall be.

A sapling so small, the one I grew
Made me complete, a feeling so new
With every leaf, another inch on earth
A living being, I had given birth.

And now with blossoms and fruits to give,
I have a son who'll forever live.
Food and air with shade so green -
Big, majestic, like none has seen.
Stands my son - may not hear a call,
But will serve mankind, even after I fall.

  • How to celebrate earth day
  • Relation between man and tree
  • Promoting planting of trees
Its a very rewarding feeling to plant a sapling and watch it blossom into a tree
