Earth Day Writing and Speaking Topics for ESL and ELD students

Journal writing and discussion topics can be used to assess students' understanding of Earth Day and their vocabulary knowledge. Sample questions include:

Do you think Earth Day is important? Why or why not?

Does your family recycle? Why or why not?

What is one thing you can do on Earth Day to help the planet?

List five ways you can keep the planet clean.

Make a poster teaching others about Earth Day. Share it with the class.

Write a poem about Earth Day.
