Earth Day Poem
For You
Walking through the woods with you, tree shadows
chase across your back as you hike
in front of me.
Summer is around the corner,
waiting in a swimsuit for you to fill the wading pool and till the garden
so it can grow corn and tomatoes and scenes of our kids
running in the woods.
